I have wanted to start a blog for a really long time now. I think the first blog post will be the hardest. I don’t necessarily need a following; I am not writing to be famous or to be the best. God knows I am not even close. But rather to challenge myself to read more, study more, and see what is really out in the world. In a world that is being swallowed up with information or misinformation, it is hard to make a difference. I want to challenge this statement and show that even little things can make a difference! I am passionate about bettering myself and helping those around me. I love Family, dogs, fitness, food, traveling, yelp, and social media. Yes, I said it. Social Media. It is the ultimate pass time and has lots of bogus information out there but it is also a way of connecting with the world and seeing everything and everyone I love. I hope to use social media and my writing, thoughts, and stories as a positive outlet. So here it goes! This is my Blog. It is called A Pep Talk With Me.
You may be wondering where I got this title. I have gone through numerous names for a blog and never really like what I came up with for my own. So, as I sat down to actually write out my ideas, I had a memory flash through my brain. This memory was actually yesterday, 8/15/18 during my early morning training session with my coach, Taylor. I kept siking myself out during obstacle course practice – specifically on the multi rig. Taylor had me do some circuits and then run through the multi rig which included rings, and ropes. I dread those dang ropes so much because I question my grip and getting across. I have successfully gotten through the ropes before, but when I attempted the rig multiple times yesterday I couldn’t get through once until Tay told me to run a quarter mile, have a pep talk with myself and that I WILL go through the multi rig completely when I get back. I ran and I had that pep talk demanded by Tay and then I got back and did the damn thing! I am my biggest critic! And if I think negative, then the outcome won’t be what I want deep down. I should trust my training, my hard work and my dedication. I have wonderful people around me and I am SO blessed! You will get to know many amazing individuals in this world through my blog. I am excited to start this process and to be reminded of the positivity that a pep talk has. Heck yah!
